Snorkeling with Toby in St. Kitts (August, 2004)
Heading
into our first break, with one out of seven semesters done,
we spent the night at the Marriott in St. Kitts on our way
back to "civilization." Toby went out pretty deep
with me while Sheryl and the other boys played in the pool.
We went out where the water was 20 to 30 feet deep, and
had a really good time. It was some of the best snorkeling
that we've done since we have been on the islands.
What
you see here is a stingray frantically swimming for its life
from the maniac behind him with a camera!
Toby and I followed him on the surface for a while, then I swam down on his blind side (directly behind him) to get a close-up. When he turned and saw me, he took off quickly, and I found that I could keep up pretty good with my fins on -- Poor little guy; but I DID get a good picture!
This
is not a great picture, but it does a good job of showing the
large amount of fish that surrounded us for much of this "dive."
Sheryl
has her newsletters; I have these photo pages. They are basically
my "web log" of our time in Nevis and medical school.
The captions and pictures are my own captured thoughts and
memories.
I don't really have much to say about the rest of these pictures, though, so I will just post the rest. They are just more pictures Toby and I took on this dive, and a good idea of much of what our leisure time on Nevis is full of.
